The design of the crew-neck T-shirt is said to originate from the uniforms worn by American athletes in the late 19th century.
By the 20th century, it had established itself as a staple of casual wear, and in the 1950s, it gained explosive popularity after being worn by movie stars James Dean and Marlon Brando.
The fabric is an original slub jersey made from recycled “cotton off-falls.”
Since it is a seamless, tubular-knit body with no side seams, there is minimal stress under the arms when moving your arms, and because there is no stiffness from the stitching, friction against the skin is also reduced.
